Flickering or dead lights?

LED Driver Replacement (Flickering / Dead Lights)

If your LED light flickers, dims unevenly or died well before its rated lifespan, the LED driver is the most likely culprit, not the LED itself. The driver is the small box behind the light or in the ceiling void that converts 230V AC to the low-voltage DC the LED runs on.

Flickering all the timeThe driver is failing, or is mismatched to the LED load.
Flickers only when dimmed lowThe driver is not dimmable, or is paired with the wrong dimmer type.
Dead after 1–2 yearsA cheap unbranded driver has failed.
Buzzing or hummingThe driver is overloaded or has a failing capacitor.

We carry common driver sizes and brands (Meanwell, Tridonic, Osram, Philips) and can usually replace a driver on the same visit. If the LED module itself has failed, we tell you honestly and quote a full replacement.

LED Ceiling Light Replacement & Repair

The most common lighting job in Singapore: an old fluorescent tube, a ceiling LED that has died, or a room that needs a brighter, more efficient light.

Replacement: we unmount the old fitting, check the wiring, mount the new LED ceiling light or panel, and test. Most take 30–60 minutes.
Repair: sometimes the LED is fine and the issue is the driver, connector or dimmer. We test the lot and replace only the failed part.
Fluorescent to LED: for older HDB and resale units with T8 / T5 tubes, we retrofit a modern LED panel in the same footprint. Brighter, cooler and cheaper to run.

Philips, Osram, Panasonic, KDK, Tronic, Opple and major retail brands, as long as the fitting carries a proper Singapore Standard mark.

Downlight & Spotlight Installation

Downlights are the default in most modern HDB and condo renovations: clean, low-profile and effective, but the installation matters more than people think.

2.5" and 3" GU10 downlights for accent lighting, kitchen counters and walk-in wardrobes.
3" and 4" LED downlights with integrated driver: the modern default (Philips, Opple, Tronic, KDK, Panasonic).
Adjustable / gimbal downlights for artwork or feature walls.
IP65-rated downlights for bathrooms and outdoor soffits.

ImportantEvery downlight must be on a properly rated circuit, with a fire-rated hood where the ceiling needs one (most HDB and condo false ceilings do). Cheap downlights without thermal protection are a common cause of ceiling fires. We only fit approved, certified brands.

Track Lighting & Magnetic Track Lighting

The right choice for spaces that need flexibility: art walls, gallery shelving, kitchen islands, retail displays, or a room you re-arrange often.

Conventional track lighting: 3-circuit 240V track with adjustable spotlights. Reliable, simple and affordable.
Magnetic track lighting: a slim aluminium track with 48V magnetic spots, floods, linear bars and pendants you can re-position without tools. Cleaner, cooler and easier to reconfigure.

We install both, and tell you honestly which suits your ceiling, room and budget. Common brands: Philips, Eutrac, Nordic Light, Paulmann and trusted OEM ranges.

Cove Lighting Installation

An indirect LED strip hidden in a ceiling recess, washing a wall or ceiling with soft light: the single highest-impact lighting upgrade in any home. It looks simple but is unforgiving in execution.

LED strip selection: 24V or 48V, 60–120 LEDs per metre, CRI 90+, high-density dotless strips for the smoothest wash.
Profile and diffuser: aluminium profile with a frosted or opal diffuser, so the strip never looks like a row of dots.
Driver location: hidden in the ceiling void, DB area or a service point, never inside the cove itself.
Dimming: paired with a compatible trailing-edge or 0–10V dimmer, or a smart controller for phone and voice.

We have seen cove work redone twice by other contractors because of the wrong strip density, diffuser or dimmer. If you want it right first time, talk to us before the false ceiling is closed.

Can I replace a ceiling light myself?

For a like-for-like LED swap (no new wiring, no new switch), some homeowners do. Singapore law, however, treats most fixed-wiring lighting work as requiring a Licensed Electrical Worker. The most common DIY mistake is pairing a non-dimmable LED with a dimmer switch, which can damage the light. A licensed electrician is the safer and usually cheaper option.

My LED light is flickering. What is wrong?

The most common cause is a failing LED driver, not the LED itself. Other causes: a non-dimmable LED on a dimmer switch, a loose connection at the ceiling rose, or a failing switch. We test the lot and replace only the failed component.

Do you install smart dimmers and smart lighting?

Can you do cove lighting as part of a renovation?

Yes, ideally before the false ceiling is closed, so the wiring and driver location can be planned in. If you are past that stage, we can usually retrofit through a small access panel. We tell you upfront which approach suits your ceiling.
