Commercial Electrician Singapore | Office, Retail, F&B

Commercial electrical work is not just “bigger residential.” The rules, the load, the documentation, and the speed of business all change. A tripping breaker in an HDB flat is an inconvenience. A tripping main in a restaurant at dinner service is lost revenue. A failed exit light in an office tower is a SCDF non-compliance. The electrician you hire for a commercial job needs to understand all of that.

TRUST ELECTRICIANS provides commercial electrical services across Singapore — for offices, retail shops, F&B outlets, clinics, schools, gyms, salons, warehouses, and light industrial premises. We work around your business hours, your MCST rules, and your insurer’s requirements, and we deliver LEW-endorsed work with a CoC where required.

Office Electrical Works

For office fit-outs, refurbishments, and ongoing maintenance. Common jobs:

  • Office lighting fit-out — recessed downlights, magnetic track, panel lights, cove lighting. Coordinated with the office layout and the false-ceiling grid. See our Lighting Electrician Singapore page.
  • Power and data points — for workstations, meeting rooms, printers, and IT racks. Cat 6 data points, surface trunking, and floor box solutions.
  • DB box upgrade for higher load — when the original office supply is undersized for the new layout. See our DB Box Electrician Singapore page.
  • 3-phase supply upgrade — for server rooms, larger air-conditioning, or EV chargers for the office. See our 3-Phase Power Installation page.
  • Smart lighting control — DALI, KNX, or app-based controls for energy management.
  • Office moves and churn — power and data points for new layouts, often on a tight weekend schedule.

Retail & Shop Fit-Out Electrical

For retail shops in malls, on high streets, and in HDB shophouses. The fit-out window is usually tight, and the landlord’s rules on working hours, materials, and access are strict.

Common jobs:

  • Track and display lighting — for shop floors, product displays, and feature walls. Magnetic track for flexibility, conventional track for cost.
  • Signage power — illuminated box signs, 3D lettering, light boxes. We run a dedicated circuit to the sign location and provide a proper isolator.
  • Window display and feature lighting — often DMX-controlled or app-controlled for after-hours ambience.
  • Cashier and POS power — dedicated circuits with UPS-ready outlets if required.
  • Fitting room lighting — usually dimmable, sometimes with motion sensors.
  • Mall compliance — landlord rules on conduit, cable colour, and labelling are strict. We are familiar with the major Singapore mall landlord requirements.

For lighting in detail, see our Lighting Electrician Singapore page.

Restaurant / F&B Kitchen Electrical

For restaurants, cafes, hawker stalls doing central prep, bakery central kitchens, catering facilities, and bars. The kitchen is the heart of the F&B operation, and the electrical work has to be right.

Common jobs:

  • 3-phase power for the kitchen — convection ovens, salamanders, induction cookers, walk-in fridges, dishwashers. See our 3-Phase Power Installation page.
  • Heavy-duty outlets and isolators — 16A and 32A industrial sockets for commercial equipment. Properly rated, properly labelled, properly isolated.
  • Exhaust and ventilation fan wiring — coordinated with the kitchen exhaust contractor. Often the highest-load single circuit in the kitchen.
  • Water heater and dishwasher spurs — see our Water Heater Installation page for the residential pattern, and our Commercial Electrician page for the commercial equivalent.
  • Display and feature lighting — for the dining area, separate from the kitchen electrical.
  • Emergency and exit lighting — SCDF requirement for any occupied commercial space. We supply, install, test, and maintain.
  • Fire alarm and PA interface — coordinated with the SCDF-registered fire alarm contractor.

For new restaurant fit-outs, we work with your kitchen equipment supplier, your ID, and the SCDF-registered fire alarm contractor to deliver the full electrical scope in time for the kitchen commissioning.

3-Phase Power Supply

For commercial kitchens, F&B outlets, workshops, server rooms, and any commercial unit that has outgrown single-phase. We handle the SP Services application, the main breaker upgrade, the 3-phase DB, and the 3-phase sockets. See our full 3-Phase Power Installation Singapore page.

Commercial Rewiring

For older offices, retail units, and F&B premises that have aged electrical installations. Full and partial rewiring with minimal business disruption — after-hours, weekend, or phased work. See our full Commercial Rewiring Singapore page.

Emergency Lighting & Exit Lights

For any occupied commercial premises, emergency lighting and exit signs are a SCDF requirement under the Fire Code. We:

  • Supply and install emergency lighting and exit signs to the latest SCDF requirements
  • Test every unit for the required 90-minute battery backup
  • Maintain on a scheduled basis — typically quarterly, with a written log for SCDF submission

If you are opening a new commercial space, or your existing emergency lighting has not been tested in the last year, this is a good time to schedule a visit.

Compliance (LEW Endorsement, CoC, Fire Safety)

For any commercial electrical work, the documentation matters as much as the work itself. We provide:

  • LEW endorsement + CoC for every fixed-wiring modification, as required by the EMA
  • Written test report for emergency and exit lighting (SCDF submission)
  • Thermography and PEI report for insurance or MCST submission
  • AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) for ongoing compliance, with scheduled visits and priority response

If you are not sure what documentation your specific commercial job requires, send us a description and we will tell you what is needed.

FAQs

Both. We do small repairs (a single dead socket in a shop, an emergency light replacement) and full fit-outs. About half of our commercial work is on-call repair and maintenance, the other half is fit-out and rewiring.

Yes. Most of our commercial fit-out and rewiring work is done after hours or on weekends to avoid disrupting your business. There is a small after-hours surcharge, which is published on our Electrical Services Price List.

Yes. We work with your MCST or Managing Agent for the access, working hours, and any required submission. For most MCSTs, the approval is a notification rather than a formal application; for others, it is a formal approval that takes 1–2 weeks. We will tell you upfront which it is.

We do the electrical scope — emergency lighting, exit signs, and the fire alarm interface. The fire alarm itself is supplied and commissioned by a SCDF-registered fire alarm contractor; we coordinate with them on site.

For commercial clients on an AMC, we offer priority same-day response. For one-off commercial emergencies, we aim to be on site within 60–90 minutes during working hours and within 2 hours after hours. See our Emergency Electrician Singapore page.

Yes — for every commercial job that requires one. You receive a written CoC and a copy of the LEW endorsement for your records, suitable for your insurer, MCST, or SCDF submission.
